Simply Barefoot touch screen kiosk

Background Information

As a new business start-up retailing floor coverings from a touch screen Interface, Simply Barefoot initially came to Ripe with a requirement for brand design and development. Having completed the branding, Ripe was asked to design and develop both the kiosk unit furniture and touch screen software that would carry the business proposition into retail outlets nationwide.

Brief

To design and produce kiosk hardware design and develop an onboard touch-screen interface.

Solution

Ripe has created a sleek, sophisticated kiosk unit that stands at only 2m tall and 80cm wide. The unit has been designed to hold over 250 samples, yet take up minimal space. As the unit needs to fit into a wide variety of retail spaces, the design had to be striking but not over-bearing. The software interface has been produced entirely in-house by Ripe and allows customers to select pre-photographed room-sets, before placing any of the floor coverings into that setting in full, 3D format. The interface allows users to change the colour of walls and furnishings so that the room-set is more reflective of their colour scheme at home. An onboard thermal printer allows the final choice to be printed and a fitter to be booked to give an estimate for fitting. No salesman, no hassle - complete satisfaction.
