Gossard Website

Background Information

Gossard are a widely recognized, big brand, intimate apparel manufacturer. Ripe built the Gossard site in 2005 when we were appointed to build an online brand destination for them as part of a £1 million advertising spend campaign to launch their Spring / Summer collection.

Brief

Gossard approached Ripe to help translate their recent brand development online. They needed the site to be revised to:

  • Incorporate the new brand message of confident, sophisticated glamour
  • Allow for more advanced communication
  • Facilitate more complex content management

Solution

Ripe's solution re-skinned the current site with a newly designed interface that incorporated the new brand identity and complemented the new artistic direction and positionals of the product photography. Design had to consider that the site must work through the differing products colour ways of Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter collections. The result is a very clean site that lets the product shots lead the overall look and feel whilst remaining clearly on-brand.

Gossard wanted to build on the success of their old site and further develop the magazine style of communication so popular with their online target audience. Alongside the existing 'send a hint' functionality (allowing visitors to send friends cheeky emails of products that they like, detailing size and colour preferences) an "As seen in" feature enables Gossard to link in with offline PR and a "Style tips" section leads to a popular problem-page style lingerie and fashion advice area.

Result

The site is a successful demonstration of the Company's re-brand and visitor engagement with the Gossard website has increased.
